A modern shopping centre is being built in Sankt Augustin in two construction stages, not only to cover daily needs, but also to give definitive shape to the face of the centre of Sankt Augustin. The new build replaces the existing Huma building from 1977 and will form the new city centre along with the town hall, medical centre and nearby university. Both the shopping centre and the marketplace are being redesigned and the environment is being optimised, including a large park. In terms of infrastructure, two car parks are being extended, a new tram stop is being built and the Ost-West-Spange [east-west branch], a tram underpass, is being expanded for private transport. The new shopping centre is characterised by a modern architectural vocabulary. Bright and welcoming interiors with strong links to nature invite you to stay a while. A wide ranges of services rounds off the centre, which is in the best possible position for the years to come.

In the 11th district in Vienna, a major new city attraction is being developed with the modernisation of the Huma Eleven shopping centre, as it has been know since its partial opening in Autumn 2015.
The former Huma shopping centre was opened there in 1987, positioning itself as a specialist store with a site measuring around 40,000 m2. At almost 30 years old, this shopping centre has now been converted over 26 months into the most modern shopping centre in Vienna. Architecture thought through to the very last detail, optimised interior spaces and modern shop concepts all work together to control the emotions of shoppers through the configuration of form, colour, light, climate, look and even smell . All these aspects come together in order to create the best possible visiting conditions, making Huma Eleven a great new meeting-place in Vienna. The architectural concept for the redesign in Vienna was created by Chapman Taylor, the international architectural office from Düsseldorf , while the project was implemented by ATP architects engineers from Vienna. The spatial experience is based on a large-scale mall design, with unique water features, real plants, green islands, food courts and architecture flooded with light.

Jost Hurler as the proprietor and the Althoff Hotels chains as the operator have worked together to achieve a fine balance between tradition and modernity, highlighting the particular flair of the region with an international outlook. The building's history can be traced right back to the 15th century. Since 1945, Jost Hurler and his wife Josefine, the owner of what used to be the "Zur Überfahrt" inn, have played a major role in steering the fate of the traditional building together, turning it into a prestigious hotel. After numerous renovations measures and style changes, the hotel was replaced with a larger new build in 2001 that met all the requirements for a modern hotel concept. This modern style has developed over the last few years, creating a comfortable atmosphere incorporating touches of regional construction and interior design and a regional/international mix of tradition and modernity that runs through every area of the hotel concept – architecture, service and gastronomy. It has a unique authentic character that matches up to the highest international standards.
