SCHWABINGER TOR
Sharing life

The vibrant Schwabinger Tor quarter, where more than 3,000 people will live and work, is taking shape along Leopoldstraße in Schwabing, Munich. It consists of nine buildings arranged around public squares and various green spaces with exciting playgrounds – offering all you need for a colourful life. Residents and visitors alike will benefit from a wide range of shops, manufacturers, restaurants, an art collective and a weekly market, creating a wonderful atmosphere for all. Modern small-scale rented offices, 210 individual attractive apartments and an international lifestyle boutique Andaz hotel fill the city quarter with life.

The area

The vibrant quarter in Schwabing in Munich is an urban mix of retail shops and restaurants, new offices and work environments and attractive homes for creative living.

“Sharing” is becoming the new ethic in consumer behaviour and will bring about a permanent change in habits, both in private and professional life. Schwabinger Tor will embodythis social development today. It’s a place where kindred spirits will come together to share their lives. Alongside classic car- and bike-sharing schemes and innovative services that promote contact between everyone in the quarter, the sharing principle will also be of particular benefit to companies, start-ups and freelancers in the area. Not only will the office spaces give rise to new work forms as co-working spaces, but the abilities of local talent will be interlinked in an invaluable way, promoting cooperation . The Schwabing quarter will at all times represent an open and open-minded lifestyle. The Schwabing bohemian life was full of artists, intellectuals, writers, actors and free spirits. Today, the quarter remains shaped by art and culture, an international public and a buzzing cultural scene. Schwabinger Tor embraces this vibrant, cosmopolitan atmosphere and provides space for tolerance and talent to thrive.

A quick glance into the future makes it clear: it will be these innovative talents that shape the world of tomorrow, moulding it and giving it a face – and not just in economic terms. TalentTrust will be set up in Schwabinger Tor to focus on supporting young talent, following in the historic tradition of the Schwabing quarter: according to a decree issued by the art-loving Prince Regent Luitpold, every new building in Schwabing had to have a studio for artists.

Tempted by art and culture: Schwabinger Tor will become the new home of an art collective. Public studios, galleries, event areas and shops will create a charming, inviting atmosphere. The whole quarter should enable everyone to enjoy an incredible range of events and art shows in all the different public spaces.
